Love of Butterflies - Tutorial on Making a Flower

Hi everybody,
Today I'm using a stamp set from Sin City Scraps called Love of Butterflies.  I'll be showing a super easy tutorial on another way to use the stamps on this CAS card.  As you'll see, I have Spring on my mind.

To begin, choose any of the butterfly stamps that you'd like.  I chose the one below but I actually needed a third to be able to make my project the way I wanted to.  These are gorgeous butterflies with script and flowers on them!  Fussy cut the butterflies out. These are very easy to cut.

Next, I wanted to make background paper using one of the small butterflies in the set.  I stamped them with Memento Angel Pink ink.  You can also emboss them.  I made another one in which I stamped the butterflies with Versamark ink on hot pink paper and used clear embossing powder on them so they showed up but with no color. Either one looked very pretty so I just had to pick one.  lol  Decisions, decisions right? (Please excuse the photo not being cropped.  The lighting must've been bad and when I cropped it, it looked too grainy).

Next, cut the wings of the butterflies in half so you should have eight wings. Put them together as shown in the shape of a flower.

Next choose something to put in the center of the flower.  I used a large button.

I'm weird about my button holes showing so I tied pink and white twine in them to make a bow.

I love to use ribbon on my cards so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to make a stem and leaves out of ribbon!  I used olive satin center band ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.

And for the final step, stamp a greeting and add bling if desired.

And that is how you can make a flower from the wings of the butterfly stamps. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will try it to make some Spring cards of your own.  HERE is a link to the Sin City Scraps SHOP.  HERE is a link to their BLOG.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
