Sin City Design Team Application Post

Hi Everybody!
Today I'm excited to be applying right here for a design team spot on the Sin City Scraps Design Team.

Here is a link to the Sin City Scraps website and blog.  You'll find anything from cool products to  impressive tutorials.  Terri Sproul is the owner and a designer for several scrapbook and stamping companies.

The criteria for the design team spot is to create a project using a stamp technique.  The technique I'm using today is the Triple Time Stamp Technique.  I think this technique is so impressive because of the way the stamps match up in the end.  You'll see what I mean as we go through the steps to make this card.

The first thing you need to do is choose 2 different colors of card stock.  Choose a light color to stamp on and a darker color as the mats.  Here are the measurements for each color cardstock.

I chose white and turquoise card stock.  White is the color you will be stamping on and turquoise will be the mats.

White card stock measurements
2" x 3-1/4"
3" x 4-1/4"
4" x 5-1/4"
Plus a piece of card stock for the inside of the card since it is a dark color.  4" x 5-1/4"

Turquoise card stock measurements
2-1/4" x 3-1/2"
3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
5-1/2" x 8-1/2" This is the card base. Score at 4-1/4"

This is how the pieces will fit together.

The first step is to start stamping on the white card stock.  I would choose two or three different stamps.  I chose 3.  This is how the white card stock should look when you start stamping.  Just put a little tape on the back of each piece to hold together.

I started out by stamping  leafy branches in a turquoise color ink.

Next I added a few large dogwoods in a light pink color.
Probably should have used a darker pink.
I hope you can see it in the photo okay.

Next, I stamped a few small dogwoods and a greeting.  The greeting is a combination of both colors of ink.

Do you see how everything matches together?  When you put the mats with these pieces of card stock, you must make sure they all match together just like this.  Be careful and don't turn upside down, etc.

Then, you start putting the mats with the white card stock.

This is what the card should look like after everything is put together and matched.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on the Triple Time Stamp Technique.  I told you it looked impressive but is so easy.  Please try it and let me know how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.  Wish me luck!

Oh My - How Time Flies

Time for another challenge over at Digistamps4joy.  HERE is a link to the challenge page for more details.  The theme is Oh My - How Time Flies.  I chose to use an image called From Mom and Me (with girl).  The first thing I thought of was how time flies when kids are growing up which is why I used the calendar designer paper.

The cardstock is Gina K Designs, Honey Mustard (Sun Kissed Autumn Collection) with matching ribbon, patterned paper is Jilibean Soup, Country Pumpkin Chowder, purchased at Ribbon Carousel and  HERE is a link to that page and the store.  I used Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles. Rhinestone Flourish purchased at Michaels. Image colored with copics.

Valentine Card in Non-Traditional Colors

Hi everybody,
Stamp TV had a challenge to use non-traditional colors to create a Valentine card.  I decided to use teal colors.

The stamps are from Gina K Designs True Love stamp kit.  The patterned paper is Carta Bella, Traditions .  I LOVE this paper pad by the way.  It is so colorful and beautiful, you should really check it out.  I bought mine from Ribbon Carousel.  The doily die is Dizzy Doily by MFT.  I used beautiful, seam binding ribbon in teal.  Pearls are from Kaiserkraft.

Valentine cards do not always have to include red and pink.  Think outside the box!

First Valentine Card of the Year!

Hi Everybody!
Seems like us card makers are always thinking ahead to the next holiday to determine what cards we will make.  Of course, I'm already thinking about Valentine's Day cards.  At least I wasn't already making them back in November when some stores had Valentine's items already stocked!  LOL!  I wish stores would put holiday things out a few weeks before not a few months before the holiday.  Anyway, I made a card from a cute La La Land stamp called Sweetheart Marci.  Can you tell I'm kind of obsessed with these La La Land stamps?  They are so adorable to me.

My Mom said this looks like me when I was a little girl because she used to put my hair up in pig tails.  The greeting is from Gina K Designs True Love kit.  I used Cherry Red card stock from Gina K Designs and the  patterned paper is from the new Echo Park paper pad called Love Story. I used Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles die and the Satin Center Band Ribbon, gems by Kaiserkraft, and Heart Stick Pins are from Ribbon Carousel.  By the way, Ribbon Carousel is having a 40-70% off sale starting tomorrow on everything in the store.  You MUST check this sale out.  Paper pads, ribbon, embellishments such as gems, pearls, etc, everything we love to use on our cards are on sale!

Okay, stay tuned for lots more Valentine's Day cards to come.  I have 3 orders so far this year.  I've been posting a sale flier, not sure if you've seen it on Facebook, my first sale.  Here it is...

I hope you'll share my flier on Facebook if you don't already sell your cards.  :)  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful start to your 2013!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Hi Everybody and Happy New Year!
I can't believe another year has gone by.  I say this every year.  It's true though, I think the older you get the faster time goes by.  Not sure why that is but it seems like when you're a kid time stops.

My resolution is to start taking better care of myself, have a more positive attitude towards life and spend more time with the people I love.  What are yours??

Today I'm sharing a cute La La Land stamp with Marci and Snowman stamp.  I just love Marci, don't you?

I love the purple and teal together, don't you? The teal, plaid patterned paper is from Gina K Designs and I can't seem to recall what the name of it is.  I would have to look it up.  It's over a year old.  The purple and printed patterned paper is Authentique, Seasons: Winter.  I used copics to color the image.  The greeting is from Gina K Designs Vogue Vases 2 by Theresa Momber.  The buttons are also from Gina K Designs.  The twine if from The Twinery.   I used a ticket tag punch on the corners of the purple paper and made a banner out of the printed paper.

I hope you're eating your black eyed peas today for good luck.  I know after not eating them in 2012 that I have some for today.  Happy New Year's 2013!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
