Sin City Stamps - Art Journaling with Terri Sproul Stamp Set

Hi everybody,
I received a new set of rubber stamps from Sin City Stamps and this has to be one of the best stamp sets I've ever had in terms of loving each and every stamp and having so many ideas running through my head for each one.  The name of the stamp set is Art Journaling with Terri Sproul.  I played with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Memento Dye Inks and came up with this tag.  I think it is really pretty.

I used Tim Holtz Wild Honey, a little Rusty Hinge, Memento Wild Dandelion, Tangelo and Bermuda Blue.  I just sponged it on in different areas and heavier in some spots.  Then I stamped the words, punctuation marks, etc. on top of the tag.  You can spray the tag adding splotches or glimmer.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Springtime Cards

Hi everybody,
FINALLY, I think we're past the cold weather, past the fear of frost on the flowers so I'm thinking Spring even though Sunday will be 90 degrees.  I think we skipped from the 50's to the 80's.  Never get enough of the nice Fall like temps.  Anyway, my point is that I made a couple of Springtime cards I wanted to share.

These bird stamps are from Martha Stewart and the birthday greeting is from Gina K Designs Stippled Spring. The little butterfly stamps are also from Gina K Designs Petals and Wings kit and the script stamp is from Botanicals.

I love pinwheels!  Aren't they fun.  I like to make them but this stamp set by Close To My Heart takes the guess work out of it.  They come in 4 different patterns, 3 different sizes along with some fun star stamps.  The greeting is from this set as well called Pinwheels. The paper is from Close To My Heart called Dream Pop paper pack only available in May with a $35 purchase.

Springtime cards are so fun to make with all of the beautiful flowers, butterflies, pinwheels, etc, that you can use.  I hope I've inspired you to make your own beautiful creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Tutorial - Double Embossing - Sin City Stamps

Hi everybody,
I was watching a very cool tutorial the other day from Stamping with Frenchie and learned a new technique called double embossing.  I never knew you could use two colors of embossing powder on one image.  I knew this technique would look beautiful on the peacock feathers from the Wildlife stamp set from Sin City Stamps SHOP.

I began by just cutting a scalloped circle to emboss on but you can use anything you'd like or just emboss on the actual card itself.  Then, if you don't learn anything else from me, if you don't already use an anti-static pad on your paper before you emboss, please start.  It will make the result look perfect.

Stamp image with Versamark and  you'll need 2 colors of embossing powder.  Sprinkle just a little of the lightest color on the Versamark then quickly dump it over to get that powder off.

Next, pour the second darker color over the entire area so that it gets
all the rest of the Versamark areas and tap off.

This is what it should look like before being heat embossed

and after heat embossing....

See how beautiful and vibrant the colors looked.  I had debated on using pink and
turquoise or pink and white also.  Any combination will look fabulous.

Choose an embossing folder, emboss and stamp the layer of paper the embossed images will lay on.

This is the result when it is put together.

 This is the final card.

I hope this is something that you'll try because it was quick, easy and actually fun.
I loved seeing the end result.

For more inspiration from the rest of the team, go to Sin City Stamps BLOG and you'll find
beautiful projects made with all of the different stamp sets.

Sponging Gone Wild with Sin City Scraps Stamps

Hi everybody!
I'm back today with a sponging tutorial for Sin City Scraps.  This is a link to their shop, http://www.sincityscraps.com/.  I used a beautiful stamp from the Wildlife set and here is a LINK to that set.  I spruced up the background by sponging it in different colors and giving it a canvas effect.

First,  I stamped the image and I just wanted to point out how perfect this large stamp stamped the first time.

Next, I cut a circle out of the spellbinders circle dies to use as a mask and sponged a little Memento Wild Dandelion around it.

Then I removed the mask and sponged a little ink over the sun.

Next I sponged the Wild Dandelion across the top and middle of the cardstock, Tangelo across middle area and Potter's Clay over bottom part.

This is what it looks like after using all the colors.

Next, I gave it a canvas effect.  I love how this turned out.

Distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Ink.

What it looks like before being made into a card.

 The final card.

HERE is a link to the Sin City Scraps blog where you can check out my project along with other beautiful projects used with their products.

Play around with different color inks, there's really not a right and wrong way to do it, that's why I like it so much!
