I Brake For Bistros

Hi everybody!

It's so cold, rainy, windy, etc., that when I ran across the stamp I am using here, it made me think of warm, beautiful days ahead, relaxing at a bistro table with a glass of wine.  This stamp is from I Brake For Stamps called Bistro Table.

I wanted this to be colored with subtle, soft colors to make it look relaxing and inviting.  I almost sponged a background and decided I liked how it looked without one.  It reminds me of those little matted pictures you can buy at the store, simple yet cute.

I used Copics to color, added some Sakura Silver Star glitter pen to the pole of the umbrella and fringe to add some sparkle and of course, have to have sequins.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I Brake for Vineyards

Hi everybody!

Have you ever been to a winery?  My boyfriend and I wanted to go to Napa Valley but it was going to cost a lot for the plane ticket, rental car, place to stay, etc., so when I lived in St. Louis, I remembered there were wineries in Hermann, Missouri, which is about 5-1/2 drive from where I live in Mississippi.  We fell in love with that place.  We stayed in an Inn called Hermann Hill Inn where you are super pampered.  I won't go into detail here but if anyone wants to know more about this place, I'll be glad to do another blog post.

I need an anniversary card for my boyfriend.... we will be together 2 years 1/30.  I drew a blank. Then a lightbulb went off to use this stamp called Vineyard for the card since we love the place so much.  We already have rooms booked for this October, it will be out 3rd time going there.

This stamp is from I Brake For Stamps called Vineyard.  I love coloring scenery stamps!

I used Prismacolor Pencils to color the image, Memento Rich Cocoa ink so that I could color over the lines, and used baby oil on parts of it to create a smoother look, such as the sky.  You can also use Gamsol for this.  The Love die is from Lawn Fawn.

I think this will make a great Anniversary Card, don't you?  If you use images that have special meaning to a person on your cards, how can you go wrong?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I Brake for Black Magic Peacocks

Hi everybody!

I did some Copic coloring on this week's card and it was so easy!  You can't mess up and it looks like you drew and colored the image by hand.  This technique is called Black Magic.  I used a stamp from I Brake For Stamps called Large and Beautiful Peacock for this technique.  I have used peacock feathers before on cards but I have never colored an entire peacock.  It was a lot of fun!

Use Coupon Code SAVE10REGINA and receive 10% off of your order.

All you do is stamp the peacock with embossing ink such as Versamark on black card stock and emboss with white powder. Then color over the white lines.  You may have to go over some colors a couple of times.  How easy is that!  Another alternative is that you can stamp the image with white pigment ink and heat set. Then color in the image with colored pencils.

I then used a Sharpie white paint pen to draw lines around the edge to break up the black some and added a few sequins. I also added a sheer black ribbon for some interest.

Did I inspire you to try the Black Magic technique?  Try it using this Peacock stamp.  This will make a beautiful birthday card for the person I'm sending it to.

I Brake For Winter Trees

Hi Everybody and Happy New Year!

This is my first post of the year.  Seems like watercolor and watercolor powders are all the rage now so I made a card using the Bister watercolor powders.  You can purchase these from I Brake For Stamps and they are very affordable to try at $1.65 each.  You can buy all the colors at that price!

Use Coupon Code SAVE10REGINA and receive 10% off your order.

I used a stamp from I Brake For Stamps called Winter Tree.  I love scenery cards because they can be used for just about any occasion and for male or female recipients.  I used Blue Bister Powder on this card and spread it with a paint brush.  I love how there are flecks of browns and different color blues. I then stamped the trees with Versafine Onyx Black Ink while it was wet.

There is no right or wrong with watercolor.  Play with it and have fun!  You can create such a masterpiece with Bister.

Did I inspire you to use Bister watercolor powders?  I have more fun with these powders and they are very quick to use.  I only used one color for this card and look how pretty it turned out.  Try mixing two or three and see how beautiful it is!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
