Ole Miss Birthday Card with Vinyl

Hi everybody!

Somebody wanted me to make an Ole Miss birthday card so I did, using vinyl.  Have you tried using vinyl on your cards?  I love the glossy look.  It does look really good on certain things.  Try it!  It cuts out easier than card stock for sure, or at least on my machine.

I just separated the layers and cut them out with the appropriate color vinyl and embossed the white layer with swiss dots embossing folder.

The top part of the sentiment is from a masculine stamp set from Virginia Turtle and the Happy Birthday is from Close To My Heart.

Did I inspire you to use vinyl on your cards?  I thought it was weird the first time I did it but now I love the look.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Mod Squad Animal Challenge

Hi everybody!

This week Joyce Erb invited me to participate in the Mod Squad Challenge Blog.  The challenge is Animals, sponsored by Kat's Scrappiness at http://www.katscrappiness.com/.  The stamp set I'm using this week is from Newton's Nook Designs called Newton's Birthday Bash.

The challenge is from Wed., 2/24 to Tues., 3/1.   Here is a link to the Mod Squad Challenge Blog.

I think this card is so cute!

These stamps stamped super good, clear.  I had fun with this set.  I paper pieced the hat and gift, haven't done that in a while.  I used Copics to color the cat.

Supplies Used:

Recollections 110# white card stock for base
Gina K Designs Passionate Pink and Onyx Black card stock
Patterned Paper, Amy Tangerine, Sketchbook
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Copics used:  W00, W2, W5, R20
Gina Marie Designs Square Stitched Dies
Chevron Embossing Folder

I hope you'll play along in this challenge.  This is a great stamp set to make cute, quick cards and have some fun with paper piecing, masking, etc.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
