Time To Relax -Flip Flop Card

Hi Everybody,

I have some exciting news... I am now on a new Design Team called The Cutting Cafe.  This is where you can buy cute SVG files to use with your Silhouette or Cricut.  There are lots of tips and tricks on her site as well as videos on how to make them.

I wanted this year to be about learning new things, taking my cards and projects to the next level, making videos, etc., so I hope you like the projects I create on this team.

You can find lots of goodies such as 6x6 paper pads, embellishments, ink, clear stamps, etc.  She sells items that you can use with your projects.

The Team Project for this week's posting, is called Fun With Silhouettes.  There are printable stamps and cut files.

I used a print file for my project, the Flip Flops.  Why did I use a print file and not a cut file? Because I wanted to FOIL it LOL!  I love using foil and I got a new laser printer so if you print using toner, you can foil it easily.

I really enjoyed making this card because it is different than my usual floral cards (which I still love lol) but I used foil and the sand to add texture in addition to propping up the flip flops with foam squares.

First, I used DecoFoil Transfer Gel to go over the Tim Holtz layering stencil called Rays.  You have to wait several hours for this to dry naturally.  Can't use heat gun to hurry it along. I'm so impatient!

I used Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to adhere sand to this card.  I used a die to cut out the shape of where the sand would go and put the glue in that area and sprinkled the sand on top and then had to let that dry a few hours.  I just love how this sand looks.  You can get a bottle of it at the Cutting Cafe and here is a link to Beach Sand Confetti.

Next I ran the piece of cardstock through my Mini Minc using DecoFoil in Gold over the sun rays.  I love how the transfer gel gives such great dimension.

I taped 3 cloud dies to the cardstock and sponged Memento Summer Sky ink around them and all over cardstock so now I have some white that is supposed to look like clouds showing.

I printed the flip flops using my laser printer so I would be able to foil.  I used DecoFoil in Black and Pink Melon colors.  The black is shiny just not metallic looking like some of the other colors.  I cut it out by hand and very easy to do.  Here is a link to Fun with Silhouettes.  I could've cut it out with my Silhouette or Scan n Cut, I believe.

Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from Stamping Bella called Uptown Girl Reilly Loves to Relax.  I thought this was very appropriate for this card.  I used a mini cube of Versafine Onyx Black to stamp. I LOVE this mini cube!  I dropped the regular sized ink pad so many times and messed up cards or got all over my hands or desk.  Here is a link to the Versafine Mini Cube.  You will love it.  I used some clear embossing powder over it and heat set to make sure it didn't smear.

I hope you will check out The Cutting Cafe. You can make cute things for your kid's teachers, etc.  So many cute files and possibilities.  Get some coffee and just browse.  I'm so excited, I got the supplies to make a fish bowl!  You know how popular sea creatures are right now.  She has a printable stamp file and here is a link to Sea Creatures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Regina

I like the technique with the zig markers. I tried it with the distress ink and got good results on one and not the other. Am not giving up though. Just havent had as much time to play lately.
Thank you for a chance to win...
