Making a Flower

Flowers are one of the first things I think about when thinking about Spring.  I decided to learn how to make my own flowers in honor of Spring.  Here are step by step pictures of a tissue paper flower.  It's super easy to make.  You can make it as small or large as you want depending on your card or project.

1.  Cut 15 layers of tissue paper with a spellbinders scalloped circle.  I used the large scalloped circle in one of the smaller sizes.

2.  Stack the 15 cut circles and fold in half both ways and insert a brad in the center.

3.  Pull up the first layer and gently crumple it covering the brad.  Continue doing this to all layers.

4.  Fluff the flower as desired.

This is what mine looks like.  Easy huh?  Now I want you to try this and I would love to see your projects using this flower.  :)

I'm in love with the new Gina K Designs Petals and Wings Stamp TV kit.  Yesterday I made 2 really cute cards with the hot air balloon stamp.  Two different looks....

This card uses the image, greeting, card stock and patterned papers from the kit.  I paper pieced the balloon and clouds with two of the patterned papers.

This card uses the image and greeting from the kit as well.  The cloud paper is My Mind's Eye.  I used MS glitter on the clouds, edge of heart, balloon and the basket part of the balloon.  The card stock is Gina K turquoise sea.

This is a very soft, pretty card that I made using the kit also....  The image, greeting, card stock, patterned paper and ribbon is from this kit.

If you're interested in how to make more flowers or try different techniques on your cards, please comment and let me know what you're interested in.

Thanks for stopping by and Make It A Great Day!!!

Love your new blog Regina! I've made a tissue paper flower before, but rather than using the brad to hold it together, I sewed a pompom to the center. Will have to try it again and actually use it on a card this time! lol

FUN & beautiful cards. And showing everyone how easy it is to make the tissue paper flowers was very kind. They'll be popping up all over Stamp TV! :)
