Masculine Thankful Fall Card Foiled

Hi Everybody,

Today I am showing a card I made for a male to let him know that I appreciate him.  I used several Brutus Monroe products for the first time and I am very pleased with everything I used.  I really love trying new company's products and especially when I'm happy with the results.  HERE IS A LINK to Brutus Monroe online store.

This is a really easy card to make and you can substitute different type stamps.  I started out with Gina K Designs card stock called Tomato Soup, which is one of my all time favorite colors.

I bought a 6x6 paper pad from Brutus Monroe called Tangled Elements.  It is black and white with Fall designs that I thought would match the stamp set I used called Autumn Thanks.  The first thing that popped into my head was, how cool would it be to be able to foil this!!!  I sent Christopher Alan, owner of Brutus Monroe, a note about that and he said sure you can foil it, it's printed with a laser printer.  That's exactly what I wanted to hear!

I used Copper Deco Foil by Thermoweb and had no idea what to expect and I about fell out of my chair when it came out of the Minc Machine.  It was so pretty that I made a one minute live video on Facebook.  It foiled perfectly!  So if you love to foil anything that doesn't move like me, this would be something different and fun to use.  This was originally going to be my whole card front but I decided to break it up with some stamping, but subtle stamping, because I wanted the foiled paper to be the star of the show.

I used every one of the stamps in the set.  I arranged them in the MISTI the way I wanted them and stamped all at one time.  Isn't it so wonderful to be able to stamp everything at one time???  I embossed with Brutus Monroe Embossing Powder in Icicle, which is clear.  So when you use clear embossing powder on colored card stock you get shiny stamped images that are the same color as the card stock.

I stamped the sentiment and embossed with Brutus Monroe Embossing Powder called Penny, which is copper. This color is so pretty!  I cut it out with a Gina Marie Designs Stitched Banner Die.  So then the hard part.... where do I put the sentiment?  Do I want to use some twine going across the middle of the card where the two papers meet?  I was going to put it in the right lower corner but I felt like the card was bare so I put it in the center.

I finished it off by adding a few copper nail heads and brown glitter enamel dots from my stash.  I normally do not put glittered anything on a masculine card but these brown dots are so dark, it's not super noticeable.  I thought if I put copper nail heads there, it would have too much copper so that's why I chose the brown.

I hope I inspired you to make some masculine Fall cards.  Tell those men in your life how thankful you are for them, this is the perfect time to do it.  I also hope you'll give Brutus Monroe products a try.  I had a lot of fun using them on this card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

That is so pretty. I love the foiled leaf design. Foiling makes event he most simple card designs elegant.

Foiling is so fun but so hard to photograph LOL. Your card turned out wonderful. I like his embossing powders too.
