Coffee themed stamps and cards are really popular these days. I saw this cute stamp from Penny Black called, Cup of Java and knew I wanted to make something with it for a coffee loving friend.
This is for my weekly design team post for TupeloDesignsLLC. They do have free shipping, no minimum purchase. Keep in mind, they have a lot of great sales and you can use more than one discount code but you need to place a separate order for each one. You get free shipping so it really doesn't matter that you need to do that to be able to use multiple codes. :)
One of my favorite colors is aqua so I decided to make a background using Nuvo Embellishment Mousse called, Aquamarine with a stencil from My Favorite Things called, Full of Heart. All you do to use this mousse, is tape the stencil down over the cardstock and use a palette knife, butter knife, etc., and spread it thinly over the openings of the stencil. You can usually put the excess back into the jar. Immediately take the tape and stencil off and let this dry. Wash your palette knife and stencil in warm, soapy water. You will get a beautiful pearly aqua color result from this with beautiful texture and dimension.
I colored this cute stamp from Penny Black with Copic Markers called Cup of Java. I traced over the scrolly parts on the cup with a Metallic Silver Pen. I cut the stamp out using a stitched heart die and sponged aqua ink inside the die while still taped down.
Next I cut out a coffee word die from Your Next Stamp called, Fancy Coffee. I cut it out three times with aqua cardstock and decided to use metallic silver cardstock on top, making the aqua layers look like a drop shadow.
This card is 5"x5" square by the way.
I hope I inspired you to make a coffee themed card. TupeloDesignsLLC has a variety of stamps, dies, shaker cups (with matching cards), etc., so take some time to check out their online store. They sell all of your favorite brands and who doesn't love some free shipping! :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You know I love free shipping! I love your card, too! You did a great job with the stencil and Nuvo mousse! When I tried it, it didn't turn out so smooth. I think next time I need to try a thinner layer.
How simply fabulous!
Thank you Amy! Avra, I got a little heavy handed on mine, you can see it's thicker at the bottom lol. I wish the mousse was creamier.
How old was your mousse? I had had mine for quite a while when I opened it first time and it seemed a little dried out. I was wondering if it was always like that, or if it was just old.
Cute card and neat design.
This is so awesome Regina! I love the color palette you used on this darling image. I have this stamp but it's yet to see ink. Thanks to your inspiration I'll need to fix that. ;0)
