I am very honored to be back a second time this month as a featured blogger at Market Street Stamps.


I'm using the stamp set called Baby Basics.  It's the perfect set for making congratulatory baby cards, shower cards and thank you cards for baby gifts.  This is what the stamp set looks like.  Lots of options for making your cute baby cards! 

 

Here's the card I made using this set....

 I paper pieced the teddy bear, stamped stars as the background and added some stickles to a few of the stars.  I had a lot of fun with this set!   This was an easy card to make but still cute because of the sweetness of the stamps.

Hi everybody,
I'm posting a card today from the Scrapbook Stamp Society collection (Sherri Baldi Stamps), called Besties.  This stamp is called Belinda Bubbles.  If you haven't been to their SHOP, please take a minute and see how adorable the digis are.  Other products are sold as well.

I made this card using the digi, Belinda Bubbles.  The greeting, which I thought was perfect for this card, is from Kraftin' Kimmie called Bridgette. The patterned paper is My Minds Eye, On The Sunny Side.  I used Spellbinders Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle around the image and a petite oval and petite scalloped oval around the greeting and colored her with copics.  I used white and blue/green pearls for the bubbles and thought they turned out SO CUTE!

Sin City Scraps - Gold Medallion

 

Hi everybody!  I wanted to share a card with you made with stamps from  Sin City Scraps. If you've never used their rubber stamps, please give them a try. I used a beautiful sets on this card called Rosette Hearts.  I love using beautiful background stamps which is what I used on this card.  I embossed the flower on this card and used perfect pearls on the background.  For those of you who may not know how to emboss or have never used Perfect Pearls, I made a tutorial. 

 Here are the stamps I used....

 I used a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card stock base and a 3-3/4 x 4-7/8" black card stock and black and gold scraps.

First, cover background stamp with embossing ink, such as Versamark and stamp the black piece of card stock.  Use Perfect Pearls to dust color all over the Versamark ink.  I used gold and a little copper around the edges and corners.

There are 2 brushes in the Perfect Pearls kit.  Use the skinny brush to brush on the powder and the larger brush to brush off any excess powder.  Then, spritz with water to set it.  I have a small squirt bottle with water that I keep in my craft room.

 Next, to emboss, I stamped the flower in Versamark on black card stock and poured gold embossing powder over it.  You will want to use an anti static pad first before you emboss.  Just rub the pad over the paper you're going to emboss on and it will take away the oils, dirt, etc., so the powder only sticks on the Versamark.

Blow off any excess powder that may be left on the card stock and use heat gun to emboss.  It will only take a few seconds.  The gold powder will turn shiny when it is done.

 You can see the difference. Now the gold powder looks metallic.

Next I cut out the flower with a 2-1/8" Spellbinders circle die.  I placed the die where it should go and taped it to the card stock.  This ensures that the die won't move and will cut the image perfectly centered.

This is what it looks like after cut out with Big Shot. 

 Next, I went a size up to cut out the gold circle.  It is 2-3/8".  The black scalloped circle is 2-7/8" scalloped circle.

 I put pop dots behind each layer to really build it up and then attached to the background piece of card stock.  Then just glue that piece of card stock to the card base.  Again, the finished card looks like this....

Trust me, it is much prettier in real life.  Obviously, you can use any color card stock and embossing powder you'd like.  I just like the look of gold on black.

Ribbon Carousel Challenge - Love is in the Air Theme - RCC77

Hi Everybody,

The button is from Archivers.  I used Crystal Stickles on the clouds.

Close To My Heart Introduction and Card

Hi everybody,

I am excited to have my starter kit as a Close To My Heart Consultant. I have to admit when I was asked if I was interested in selling it, I wasn't sure because I had never tried the product.  I wanted to try the stamps,  feel the papers, etc., to make sure the quality met the highest standards possible.  I was very impressed!  The clear stamps stamped perfectly and I could feel the quality.  The ink was very nice, stamped clean.  The card stock and patterned paper was beautiful.  I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I was even impressed with the 4x5 acrylic block in the kit.  There is a line at the very bottom of the block if you want to make sure your stamp is lined up straight like at the bottom of the page for instance. It's the perfect size and you can tell by the weight that is a nice quality block.  There is also cute chipboard if you like to use that, a card making idea book, scrap booking idea book and more.

Here is a card I made using some stamps and paper from my kit. 

The stamp is a pie shape stamp and you can stamp different things in the little pie sections.  I made this one a spinner card.  First time I've made one of these.  This card was a lot of fun to make and slightly different than what I normally create.  I figure a little change can be good, right?

I'm on the Scrapbook Stamp Society Design Team

I made this card using the digi, Tessy Two Step.  The greeting, which I thought was perfect for this card, is from Gina K Designs, Tag Lines.  The wood grain patterned paper is Authentique Lively.  I used a Spellbinders Deckled Oval die and colored her with copics.  I used a piece of canvas to use with the greeting, popped on some bronze brads and copper nail heads and distressed the oval and canvas with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Guest Designer - Market Street Stamps

Hi, my name is Regina Hardy and I am very honored to have been asked to be a guest designer in February for Market Street Stamps.  I live in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, with my husband of 12 years and 3 dogs, the Flinstone clan, Pebbles, Bambam and Barney, two Chocolate Labs and a Pointer/English Springer Spaniel mix.  My hobbies were baking and reading until I discovered card making and now those hobbies have been put on the back burner, along with just about everything else.  I started making cards about 2 years ago and have been an avid card maker ever since.  I don't really have just one style, I make anything from CAS to intricate but mostly in the middle of those.  I recently bought a Silhouette so I'm trying to learn how to take my cards to a new level. 

I'm using the stamp set called Riding By.  It's such a fun set that can be used for a variety of occasions.  This is what the stamp set looks like.

For Your Inspiration Challenge (FYI)

Hi everybody!  Today I'm letting you know about a challenge on the For Your Inspiration blog (FYI for short).   This is a photo inspiration challenge.  Here is a link to the challenge.

Here's the card I made for the challenge.  I think my blue should've been darker now that I look at it.  lol  

I used Gina K Designs Kraft card stock and patterned paper is Carta Bella, Traditions.  The stamp is also from Gina K Designs, Stippled Nature.  I used petite oval spellbinders and Cuttlebug embossing folder, Swiss Dots.  Button is from Archivers. 

I hope you'll make time to create a project for this challenge.  There's no right or wrong, it's how you interpret the photo.

Hearts and Butterflies

 

 Hi everybody! This is my first post as a designer for Sin City Scraps. I'm very honored to have been chosen for their first design team. If you've never used their rubber stamps, please give them a try. I used two beautiful sets in the cards called Rosette Hearts and Love of Butterflies. These stamp sets fit my style perfectly as I love to create with both hearts and butterflies.

This first card is a very 'happy' card blinged up big time.

  I used the stamping technique "Emboss Resist" on this card.

1. Choose your stamps and stamp with Versamark on card stock in various directions and even stamp off the paper some to make it look random.
2. Use embossing powder on your Versamark stamped images.  I used white embossing powder.
3. Use heat gun to heat set the embossing powder.
4. Choose inks to use to create a resist on the stamped images.
5. Distress with Tim Holtz distress inks in Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and just a little of Rusty Hinge.
6. To create this look, use a sponge dauber to add ink on the card making sure to rub over the stamped images.  Use the different color inks randomly on the card. Start with the lightest color and fill in spots with the darker colors.  I take the darker colors and emphasis the stamped images.  Then, go back and fill in any white spots with the lightest colors.
7. Take a paper towel and rub over the embossed images to remove any ink still on them.
8. Die cut Spellbinders Petite Oval and Lacey Oval to use for focal image.  For added interest, I used Nestabling Lacey Ovals in Silver from Want2Scrap™.  I used a stamp from Rosette Hearts for the focal image.
9. Cut butterflies from Cheery Lynn dies and use glue dots to adhere them.

• Card base - Gina K Designs heavy base weight white card stock
• Layering paper - Gina K Designs white layer weight card stock
• Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black

I wanted this second card to have a romantic feel to it.  It's a simple card but I think it turned out beautiful.

I LOVE this background stamp from Rosette Hearts.  The focal image is also from Rosette Hearts. It's such a romantic set.  Sometimes background stamps can be hard to work with.  The technique I use is to ink up the stamp really good, lay it down stamp side up and lay the card stock on top of the stamp and rub lightly over the entire stamp.  This works better for me than stamping normally.   Supplies for Romantic Card
