Happy Cupcake Day

Hi Everybody,

I made a cute birthday card for a very good friend.  She is so talented at making cards that I'm always just a little bit nervous when making her a card. I know that's silly but it's true.

I colored this cute stamp with Copic Markers from La La Land Stamps called Heart Cupcake Marci. I fussy cut her out because I wanted as much of the background to show as possible.  For the background I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Stamp.  Oh how I love this stamp!  It can look like gingham or plaid.  There are lines included to make it look plaid.  I used the Misti Stamping Tool to make sure I stamped it with good coverage.  I used one of the Altenew mini cube inks, Cherry Blossom.  I used the lightest color to stamp this background, Pink Diamond.

For the sentiment, I used a wood block stamp that doesn't have a company name on it that says, Happy Cupcake Day.  I thought that was perfect for this card. I stamped with the third darkest color in the Altenew Cherry Blossom set called, Rubellite and cut out with a fish tail banner die. I inked around the edges with the same color.

To finish it off, I used a Sakura Glitter Pen, Clear Star, and used this on random parts of the stamp.

For the inside, I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder for the pink cardstock at the top.  I put white cardstock under it and used a border die to cut off the lower part of the pink so I would have room to sign the card. To make the inside look a little more festive I used the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Fringed Scallop Borders.

I love the stamp I used inside from Altenew called Wish Big.  I used one of the new WOW Glitter Embossing Powders called Spring Breeze resulting in some sparkle (who doesn't love sparkle??) and some green to tie in with the front.

Clear sequins were the finishing touch.  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Clueless Card

Hi Everybody,

When I saw this stamp that I'm using on today's card, it just made me smile because I can think of a few people it would be perfect for lol.  This stamp is called Clueless from I Brake For Stamps.  If you like this stamp, if you use the Code, SAVE10CRYSTAL, you will receive 10% off your order.

I used Zig Real Brush Markers to color him using Canson Montval Watercolor Paper.  I have to admit that I like my Zig Markers a lot better since I bought this paper.  It blends easily and can take a few layers.  I was using other papers in which the Zigs would seep into the paper and not blend and the fibers of the paper would pull up after one layer.  Try it!

Supplies Used:

  • Canson Montval Cold Pressed 140# Watercolor Paper
  • Gina K Designs Cardstock in Turquoise Sea, Black Onyx, and Jellybean Green
  • Clueless Stamp, I Brake For Stamps
  • Versafine Black Onyx Ink
  • Versamark Ink
  • Hero Arts White Embossing Powder
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Die
  • Gina Marie Designs Stitched Squares Die
  • Fun Foam
  • Scor-Tape
Every so often you need to make a silly card.  I had fun with this one.  I hope I inspired you to watercolor and get out one of your silly stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Art Impressions Big Bertha Big Mouth Birthday Card

Hi everybody!

I love making cards because I can make them to fit almost any situation.  Well, after making this one, I think I can cover any situation now lol.  My Mom's top front tooth has been coming out for months now and she has been so upset, mad, etc., and now it's just kind of a running joke.  She smiles and laughs all the time and tries not to because of her missing tooth and is having a really hard time of it.

Anyway, I saw this stamp back in June and knew I had to have it to make her birthday card.  It is Art Impressions Big Bertha Big Mouth Stamp.  I believe there are a couple other big mouth stamps as well.  There might be more now but as of June I think there were 3.  Tell me this isn't the funniest thing you've ever seen since you know the situation.... it's all in good fun.

My friend Crystal Lopez colored this image when I was staying at her house a couple weeks ago.  She is so talented and can make cheetah print like no one's business.  Please visit her blog because she is very creative and you will definitely get inspiration from her work.  Here is a link to 8upscrapin

The directions on how to assemble the card with the pull out tab are included.  There is a small square die to use to cut out the mouth area.  The only thing I would tell you is stamp out one and practice cutting it before you cut out your colored one.  Also, when you draw the 2 lines it tells you to draw, I would draw them a little bit more spaced apart and a little longer than your tab is so the tab will fit well and feed easily through the slits.

Happy Birthday Mom!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
