Card Made from Live Video Technique with Zig Markers

Did you see the LIVE FB Video I did a few days ago??  I can't believe I did a live video but it was actually fun.  I did have my phone backwards but hey, it was my first one.... the main thing is you could see the technique being done.  I look forward to doing more videos in the future.  I hope you'll subscribe to my YouTube channel.  


This is the card I made from the "Zig Scribble" Technique that I showed on the video. Isn't it gorgeous???  I'm telling you, you can't mess this up.  Anything you do will be awesome.

I love the bright colors.  You can somewhat control how light or dark your colors are by how much you spray with water and the color markers you choose.  I chose purple and dark pink as two of mine so it's a little dark.  

Please Note:  Use Bristol Smooth Paper

I embossed a word background which I think turned out beautiful, by Heartfelt Creations called Large Elegant Background Words.  I used Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder which I think is a must to have in your stash.  I stamped 'I Love' in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and put Clear Embossing Powder over it to give it a little shine.  This is from Simon Says Stamp called You Matter.  The large You is a die from this set that matches the large stamp.  I cut it out with black and then a silver pearl vellum.  I wanted it to look like a slight shadow behind the silver pearl. The silver pearl vellum didn't show up quite as much as I wanted it to.  The vellum is from Graphix called Specialty Assortment.  It is 40# so it is a good weight, not real flimsy and cut good with the die. 

I finished it off by adding a few clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope I inspired you to try this technique.  I wanted to make a video to show you it is easy, fast and great results.  This technique really does only take a minute.  It took longer for me on the video because I just wanted to demonstrate how you can keep spritzing and what the result would be and using a paint brush to move ink around, etc.

I hope you'll stick with me as I start my YouTube video endeavor hopefully within the next week.  My husband took over the project of establishing a video area and setup so it's taken more time than I expected lol.  I am blessed because he said he wanted to provide all the tools to help make me successful.  Awwww!

More Zig Scibbling and Water

I liked the technique so much that I did in my last post, here's a LINK to that one, that I made another card using the Zigs and water.  Scribbling the Zigs on the card and spraying heavily with water.  That's it.  You could do this with your kids.  Stamp or emboss a bunch of cards and let your kids scribble zigs on them and spray with water lol.  

I have many friends who have issues with their hands and fingers and I think this would be a great technique for them to try.  I even told a lady with a broken arm about it and maybe she could do this.

  
I used the gorgeous stamp set by WPlus9 called Kind Soul.  If you see it I would grab it, it's been really hard to find.  Everyone has been sold out.  I used the Zig Markers, spritzed heavily with water, let it do it's thing.  Then when it dried I stamped the greeting and used a beautiful embossing powder from The Ton called rose gold.  I even added it to the sides of the card.  Isn't that just so lovely?  I embossed the flowers with Ranger Silver Pearl. I originally had dew drops on the card and when I added the Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Crystal to the centers of the flowers, I had too much sticking up on the card so I took the dew drops off and they tore my paper a little so I added the clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I like these drops because they seem to take on whatever color is underneath them.  

That's it, easy peasy.  I made a couple others that I'll be posting.  I did try watercolor paper but I like the Bristol Smooth paper better because the ink and water seem to flow more freely if that makes sense.

Silver Pearl Dandelion Sympathy Card

Seems like I have been making more sympathy cards and thinking of you cards than anything else.  I used to dread making sympathy cards but now I look at it as a way to send something pretty to the recipient that hopefully will make them smile and feel a little better.  I do not use drab colors for sympathy cards.  On this card, I struggled with whether to add sequins because I don't want anything flashy but it needed a little something so I added a few clear sequins.

 I apologize if this is a little difficult to see. The silver pearl embossing powder is hard to photograph I'm finding out.

Supplies Used:

• Gina K Designs White 120# Heavy Base Weight for the base, 80# for layer and Turquoise Sea
• Stamp Sets Used:  Technique Tuesday, Dandelion and Close To My Heart One Way Borders
• Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder
• Versamark Ink
• Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequins

I originally thought I would emboss the dandelion in white but I thought that looked too bright, I wanted something softer so I think the silver pearl turned out good.  I went over the border a couple of times with the embossing powder to make it look more even.  

I have made brighter color sympathy cards in the past but only because I knew the recipient loved the colors.  I hope I inspired you to make your sympathy cards with pretty colors, not just neutrals.

Altenew Layered Daisy Thank You Card

Hi Everybody,

I made a card that I think is so pretty I may make one for myself lol.   I love the colors in this card.  I used the Altenew layered Daisy stamp set.  I think this set was something like $4.99, well worth the money for sure.

If I went a little overboard with the sequins, it might be because I'm covering up a boo boo lol.  I'm going to also put some glossy accents on the thanks die to shine it up a bit.  Who wouldn't want to get this in the mail right?  As you can see I'm not planning on writing very much in this one. :)

I spent a lot of time playing with ink combinations for the different layered stamp sets I have which was actually fun to do.  Some of them surprised me looking so good and some surprised me looking so awful together. 

I don't think you can go wrong sending someone a card with the layered flowers on them.  I hope I inspired you to try them if you haven't.  Like I said the Altenew set I used has 6 stamps, 3 for flowers and 3 for leaves and is around $5.
