The Outlawz Greetings Challenge Team

Hi everybody!  A few days ago I posted that I was chosen to be a designer for The Outlawz.  Today I'm actually effective.  Woo Hoo!  I'm on the GREETINGS challenge team.

The greetings team has a new challenge today, every Monday a new one.  The challenge is to make a Mother's Day card or a card for a girl.  Easy right?  You also must have a greeting on your card.  A focal image is not required but a greeting is.  Please pop on over to The Outlawz and create some beautiful cards for this challenge.  Go ahead and make your Mother's Day card and use it in the challenge as well.  You can click on The Outlawz button on the top right of my page where it says join and it will take you directly to the page.  You can find the greetings challenge under the tab at the top of the page that says 'challenges'.  Then click on Monday greetings challenges.

There are challenges over there every single day and lots of prizes.  If you love challenges like I do, please check it out.  You will love it!

I posted this card a few days ago but I'm posting it again for our Mother's Day card challenge.

I love this card.  It has a little bit of a vintage look to it, so soft and pretty.  The patterned paper is from K&Company.  I stamped butterflies on the paper with a stamp from Gina K Designs called Celebrate the Season using Momento Desert Sand ink.  The greeting is from Stampendous.

I hope you'll join The Outlawz and take part in the challenges.  Let me know if you do.  I'll be watching for your creations.....

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Just For You

Hi everybody!  I never dreamed I would be as busy as I am making Mother's Day cards for people.  I hope Father's Day is just as busy.  I really don't have much more going on than that so I figured I needed to make cards that you haven't seen before for my blog or you'd stop coming by.  :)  So I created one yesterday just for you.

I used the Cheery Lynn die called Judy's Blooms.  I love this one because there are 2 size flowers so I can do a lot with it.  The patterned paper is from Gina K Designs called Wisteria Lane.

I did add a few pearls to the bottom right side but haven't taken a picture of the updated card yet.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow.

A Smorgasbord of Cards

Hi everybody,
The last couple of days I continued to make Mother's Day cards, cards that you've already seen, so I didn't really have anything to post.

Yesterday I made a little bit of everything so I'm calling it a smorgasbord of cards.  Some are Mother's Day and some are birthday.

The beautiful stamp on this card is by Anne Fenton.  The paper is from Prima Marketing.

The stamps are from A Year of Flowers stamp set by Gina K Designs, designer, Melanie Muenchinger.  The coloring technique I used on the basket and roses is byMelanie Muenchinger, author of A Year of Flowers.  I used a Martha Stewart punch.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye.

This person loves the beach so I just sponged several colors of Momento ink on the card.  This sponging technique is by Theresa Momber.  The grass and flip flops are from Stampin' Up. The palm trees are from Recollections from Michaels.

This digital image is from Lily of the Valley.  The greeting is by Gina K Designs, Petals and Wings kit.  I used a Martha Stewart punch at the bottom of the card.

The two focal image stamps are from Inkadinkado.  The greeting is from Gina K Designs, Pleasant Plurals.

This digital image is also from the wonderfully talented Anne Fenton.  Her blog address is annescards4u.blogspot.com if you'd like to check out her work.  I thought this image was appropriate since we're currently in the exciting prom season.  I colored her dress fuschia because I wore a dress that color my senior prom.  Memories....

I hope you liked the cards.  Have a great Friday!  I hope you have an interesting weekend planned and can work in some crafting time.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Quote from Abraham Lincoln

Hi everybody!  I heard from several people yesterday that it was snowing where they live.  That's just wrong!  Well, where I live it is sunny with highs in the 60's and low 70's.  Perfect weather.  Feels like Fall, my favorite month.  Well, enough about the weather, let's talk cards....

I announced yesterday that I am a designer on The Outlawz (Woo Hoo) and today I have one more exciting announcement.... two of my cards are going to be published in a magazine.  You haven't seen the cards yet.  You'll have to wait until the magazine comes out on May 15th.  More details to come.....

Someone asked me to make six of the same Mother's Day card.  She wanted something pretty, simple, have some pearls or rhinestones, and a quote from Abraham Lincoln on the front.  I've never heard this quote before and can't imagine Lincoln saying this but you learn something new everyday.  Here are the six cards....

"All that I am,
or hope to be,
I owe to my
Angel Mother."
-Abraham Lincoln

I hope you aren't getting bored with my Mother's Day cards because I still have more to make.  I told you I had a lot of orders to fill.  I'm not complaining though.  :)

I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Designer on the Outlawz

Hi everybody! I have an exciting announcement to make.... I'm sure many if not all of you are familiar with the Outlawz site because they're known for having challenges every single day (Love!).  I just found out last night that I am going to be a DESIGNER on the GREETINGS team.  I am beyond excited.  I can't wait to work with these talented ladies and learn as much as I can from all of them.  If you're not a member of the Outlawz already, please check out their site.  If you like challenges like I do, you will LOVE being a member of this awesome site.  Did I mention they have challenges EVERY DAY?  You can win stamps, digis and gift certificates to places like Oozak.  Ooooh.  Please at least check them out and I know you'll love it like I do.

I'm glad I heard the news early evening or I would have been too excited to make any cards.  LOL

I made a Mother's Day card and a card for an Outlawz challenge.

The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and Prima Marketing.  The twine is from The Twinery, and everything else from my stash.

Next, I made a card for an Outlawz challenge in which the card had to have the word, 'Happy' somewhere on it.  Easy peasy right?

Today I'll be working on more Mother's Day cards.  This has been a great year for those.  I'll have to keep count of the total of those sold.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

It Sure Does Clear The Head

Yesterday I took a break from making Mother's Day cards to clear my head and participate in a couple of challenges on the Outlawz site.  I love this site as they have challenges every single day!

The first one was the Color Challenge of the week.  The colors to use are peach, taupe and off white.  It was actually challenging for me to use this color combo.  The twist to the challenge is to use something crocheted on the card.  At first I thought the colors were too bland looking but as I kept looking at it, I saw the softness of it and thought it was pretty.

The second challenge was too make a card with a wedding theme.  I found these digital images online, used this patterned paper with embossing on it and made a few paper flowers and voila here is my finished card.

I hope you're having a great weekend and working in some crafting time.  Like I said, it sure does help clear the head, that's for sure.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please come back tomorrow.

April Sketch Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Sketch Blog Hop! Everyone has had so much fun doing these it's turned into a regular event! The purpose of this hop is to show how the same sketch can be used to make so many different cards. If you've never used a card sketch before, give it a try! If you happened along, be sure to start at the beginning - www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com. You should be here at my blog from the previous one, http://craftycardgallery.blogspot.com

Here is this month's sketch:  Round card, the two circles represent some sort of embellishment on border (holes, gems, etc), stitches in center is ribbon or some sort of horizontal line, and the image can be stamped or ? and the sentiment is optional.

Here is my take on the sketch....

I used the largest spellbinders large circle and the largest lacey circle.  I cut the circles with my Big Shot to make the card.  The greeting is from Gina K Designs Stenciled Spring stamp set.  I used lavender and purple card stock from my stash, along with the ribbon and rhinestones.  The stamp is from Inkadinkado, Perennial Prints collection called Sprigs & Blossoms Boxed Set. I colored the stamp with my Momento markers, Grape Jelly and Bamboo Leaves and then stamped resulting in the flower and leaves being two different colors.

Here is the lineup:

More Mother's Day Cards

Hi everybody!  It's finally Friday!  Woo Hoo!  Does anybody have any interesting plans for the weekend?  Looks like I"ll be crafting all weekend because I have so many card orders.  Do you sell your cards?  I'm always interested in knowing this.

I wish I had a technique or something to share but I just focused on making Mother's Day cards yesterday.  Here they are.....

I'll be sharing the cards I make each day for the next few days as I have so many to make. I hope I can at least give you some ideas for making your own.  I can't even imagine what I'm going to make for my own Mom.  Need to think on that....

I hope you have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow.

Mother's Day Cards

Mother's Day is just around the corner, May 13th, and the orders are starting to come in.  Here are a couple cards I made yesterday.

This card started out vintage but I ended up kind of veering away from a total vintage look.  I think it turned out pretty.

Somebody asked for a card with a butterfly on it and the color pink so here it is....

I made the rolled rose flowers with my new Sizzix Bigz die called Flowers, 3-D.  It cuts the paper into the spiral with scalloped edges and you just tightly roll it around something skinny and glue down the bottom.  Easy as that!

I hope you liked my cards.  I have many more to make so I'll be posting them each day over the next few days.

I hope you have a GREAT day!  Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Distressed Card

Hi everybody!  Yesterday was a busy day of making cards that people have ordered.  I still managed to make one card.  This is for an Outlawz challenge.  The card has to have some kind of distressing on it.

The image is from Hero Arts, Past Times.  The greeting is from Gina K Designs Petals and Wings kit.  I used the Spellbinders Label 14 die.  I used Momento Rich Cocoa ink to distress around the die.

If I can make between 1-3 cards a day, I am  happy.  Are you able to work in a little crafting time each day?  It sure is great for stress relief.  When I make cards, I don't think about anything else except what I'm doing.

It's getting closer and closer to blog candy time.  I now have 76 followers.  When I reach 100, I'll start giving away prizes.  If you can share my blog with your friends, I would really appreciate it.

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

A Special Thinking of You Card

Hi everybody!  I had a great day yesterday because I went to Hobby Lobby and Archivers.  Oh that can get you in so much trouble!  I love those places!  I bought some pretty paper packs and flowers.  I also bought some Tim Holtz alcohol inks.  I'm going to start playing with these and see what kind of backgrounds I can come up with.  Has anyone else used these and do you like them?  Any tips you can give me on using them?

I made a special card for somebody that found out she has breast cancer.  She's now going through chemotherapy.  I wanted her to know my husband and I were thinking of her.

The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Framed Greetings, patterned paper is from Prima Marketing called the Madeline collection.  I used a Martha Stewart punch, Spellbinders labels 14 and the flowers are just from Hobby Lobby called 'spare parts'.

I hope you liked my card.  Please help me reach 100 followers so I can start giving away 'blog candy.'  I am currently at 76.  I would really appreciate your help by telling your friends either on your Facebook page or on your blog.

Have a great day and thank for stopping by!  Please come back tomorrow!

It's Almost Blog Candy Time....

Hi everybody!  Would you help me if you could?  I'm trying to get to 100 followers.  I currently have 68.  Once I do.... you know what happens then.... BLOG CANDY time!!!  I would really appreciate your help with this.

I made 3 cards yesterday that I'd like to share with you.

I cut out this flower from the Sizzix Movers and Shapers die.  The grass die is from Cheery Lynn.  I think this is such a cute, sweet card.

This next one turned out really pretty I think.  The digital images are again, from Anne Fenton.  Here is her blog info so that you can see her other wonderful designs.  She also has some FREEBIES on her blog as well.  http://annescards4u.blogspot.com/.

This last card was made for a challenge in which I had to use something recycled so I used newspaper and distressed it.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks, Victorian Velvet, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.  I then sponged around the bird in Vintage Photo.

I hope you liked my cards today.  Again, BLOG CANDY at 100 followers.

I hope you have a great day and please come back tomorrow!

More Digital Images

Yesterday I played with some digital images and I wanted to show you two of the cute cards I made.

The first one is an image by Anne Fenton.  She is an incredible artist.  You can see her amazing work by visiting her blog at  http://annescards4u.blogspot.com.  You can also see her work on the Outlawz site.  She hosts a challenge in which she will provide two free images for you to use on your project.  Seriously, if you like digis you must check out her work.

The second one was another one for an Outlawz challenge making a card using a balloon somewhere on the project.  I thought this digi was adorable.  This one came from Doodle Pantry.  Someone made the comment that it looks like the ants are floating around looking for the perfect picnic to land on.  LOL!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and working in some crafting.

Thank you for stopping by and please come back tomorrow.

Digital Images

It's a stormy Saturday morning here in St. Louis.  I think this is going to have to be a rushed posting today because Barney is scared, my Pointer/English Springer Spaniel mix.  I have about 90 pounds worth of dog trying to sit on me.  He's afraid of thunder and fireworks.  I'll post a picture of my dogs soon.  Anyway, I made 3 cards that I wanted to show you.

This first one is a digital image.  It's for a challenge on the Outlawz site.  The card has to have a balloon on it.  I think it turned out pretty good.  I'm kind of new at the digital image thing but it was fun to color.  Where are the best places to get cute digis?  I would love for you to share that with me.

The other two are just springtime cards.

I apologize for not being able to spend more time today.  I hope you have a great weekend and get a little R&R and some crafting in.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Making a Card Using Wax Paper

Yesterday I used wax paper to make a pretty background for a card.  What's the only drawback to doing this technique you might ask?  You have to drag out and blow the dust off your IRON.  Ha Ha  I know I did.  I can't tell you the last time I used an iron.  Here's my card and how I did it.  It's easy just like the aluminum foil card I made the previous day.

You just cut a piece of wax paper slightly larger than your cuttlebug folder and run it through your machine.  Then cut two pieces of card stock (I used heavy) to place above and below the embossed wax paper.  Your iron should be on high with NO WATER, NO STEAM.  Run your iron back and forth over the card stock until you think the wax has melted onto the card stock.  The wax will be on both pieces of card stock since there is wax on both sides of the wax paper.  Then you're going to take an ink pad and rub it over a piece of the card stock until it is covered in ink and you can see the image.  Finally, wipe off the excess ink with a paper towel.

NOTE:  If your card stock curls, it is okay.  The curled side up is the side you will ink.

I hope you will try this technique.  If you want a subtle background, use a lighter ink.  I used a light pink on this one.

TGIF!!  Thank you for stopping by today and please come back tomorrow.

Aluminum Foil Background

Hi Everybody!
There are all kinds of household items that can be used on a card to really jazz it up.  Yesterday I made a card using aluminum foil.  If you've never used it on a card, you'll be so amazed at how easy it is to use.  You need heavy duty foil and just run it through your die cut machine in an embossing folder.  Simple as that!  I think this will be very pretty to use on Christmas cards too.

I made the one card for two challenges.  The aluminum foil challenge is on Stamp TV and the color challenge is on the Outlawz.  Here is the card I made combining the two.

I apologize for the quality of the photo.  I need to work on that.  :)  I just ran the foil through my Big Shot in a Happy Birthday cuttlebug embossing folder.  I can't believe how pretty and straightened out it looks after being run through.  Just be careful with it because it will tear easily.  I had to use a light green, an orange and a darker orange color for the color challenge.

I hope you'll try to use foil on your cards.  On a previous blog, I distressed some newspaper.  Next I'm going to use wax paper so stay tuned.

I hope you have a Terrific Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Outlawz Challenges

Hello Everybody,
The weather here has been so beautiful.  Sunny, the bluest skies I have ever seen and the trees are finally filling out.  We finally put our patio furniture out and what happens?  It turns colder!  The last few days have been in the high 50's and lower 60's.  Since it's a little chilly out, I'm not as tempted to be outside so I made several cards yesterday.  These were for challenges on the Outlawz website.  I hope you like them!

This card was made for a challenge in which a quote had to be on the front of the card as the image.

This card was made for a sketch challenge.

This one was just a CAS card I made with a new embossing folder.  I love how this looks so elegant and perfect for a small image.

I hope you're enjoying your springtime weather but still able to get some crafting accomplished.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.  Please come back tomorrow.

Out of Steam...

Hi everybody!  Well, yesterday I guess I ran out of steam.  I got some rest and I did manage to make one card.  People who don't make cards do not realize that it really is 'work', mental work.  I'm sure you all will agree with that.

Here's the card I made....

I'm sorry you can't see the stamp very clear.  I tried to choose a color that matched the bluish color on the patterned paper.  That paper is from Prima Marketing, Sun Kiss collection.

Hopefully I'll come up with something more interesting for tomorrow's blog.  Take care everybody!

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!

Happy Monday!!!

Hey everybody!  Happy Monday!!!  I just wanted to post a couple of cards I made yesterday.  I know, I know it was Easter but I can't seem to tear myself away from making cards no matter what day it is.  I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking about entering one or both of these cards in a challenge over at Outlawz.

Well that's it for today.  I'm actually so tired that I can't think of anything to say.  lol

I hope you have a Marvelous Monday.

Thanks for stopping by and please come by again tomorrow!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everybody!  I hope you have a wonderful worship service and are spending time with family today.  I just wanted to share a few of the Easter cards I made this year.

The card with the gingham fabric was made for a challenge using fabric and a safety pin.  This card is sentimental to me because my Grandmother passed away last June and my Mom gave me some of her lace and fabric so I decided to use some on this card.  :)

I hope you have a nice Easter holiday.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back tomorrow!
